Product Name :
Mouse anti Human myc

Description :
| Clone 8 | Isotype IgG2a | Product Type Monoclonal Antibody | Units 100 µg | Host Mouse | Species Reactivity Human Mouse Rat | Application Immunohistochemistry Immunoprecipitation Western Blotting

Background :
Hybridoma produced by the fusion of splenocytes from mice immunized with recombinant full-length human c-Myc protein and mouse myeloma cells.

Source :
Human c-myc belongs to a family of 5 myc oncogenes. Amplification of c-myc has been found in several types of human tumors including breast and colon carcinomas. Induction of c-myc in cells grown in the appropriate growth factors or co-expression with survival genes, such as bcl-2 causes cell proliferation. In the abscence of these factors, c-myc expression causes cell death. c-myc gene gives rise to at least two nuclear phosphoproteins of 64kDa and 67kDa. Synonyms: cmyc; Myc proto-oncogene protein; transcription factor p64 <

Antibodies are immunoglobulins secreted by effector lymphoid B cells into the bloodstream. Antibodies consist of two light peptide chains and two heavy peptide chains that are linked to each other by disulfide bonds to form a “Y” shaped structure. Both tips of the “Y” structure contain binding sites for a specific antigen. Antibodies are commonly used in medical research, pharmacological research, laboratory research, and health and epidemiological research. They play an important role in hot research areas such as targeted drug development, in vitro diagnostic assays, characterization of signaling pathways, detection of protein expression levels, and identification of candidate biomarkers.
