Product Name :
Chicken anti MTBE

Description :
| Clone Polyclonal | Isotype IgY | Product Type Primary Antibodies | Units 1 ml | Host Chicken | Application Immuno-affinity-chromatography

Background :
Chicken egg yolk, purified by PEG extraction. Immunogen: BSA-tert.Butyl Carbamide

Source :
MTBE, methyl-tert-butylether is used in the laboratory as a solvent. In addition it is used as an additive for gasoline. It is found as a contaminant in ground water and as such poses a threat for the production of drinking water. <

Product :
Each vial contains 1 ml 5mg/ml of purified (PEG) polyclonal antibody containing in 0.1 M PBS pH 7.2 containing 0.02% sodium azide.

Specificity :
Target: MTBE, CAS no.: 1634-04-4, Solubility: Ethers, Alcohol, most organic solvents.

Applications :
The antibody may be used in IAC.The titre of the antibody solution is 2,000, which means that the antibody should be diluted 2,000 times for 50 % binding.

Storage :
Store at 4 °C or aliquot and store at -20 °C for longer periods.Precautions should be taken upon storage for longer periods. Problems of long term stability may occur with highly diluted solutions. For long storage purposes in solution the addition of sodium azide at 0.02 % is advised with the appropriate precautions of use.

References :

Antibodies are immunoglobulins secreted by effector lymphoid B cells into the bloodstream. Antibodies consist of two light peptide chains and two heavy peptide chains that are linked to each other by disulfide bonds to form a “Y” shaped structure. Both tips of the “Y” structure contain binding sites for a specific antigen. Antibodies are commonly used in medical research, pharmacological research, laboratory research, and health and epidemiological research. They play an important role in hot research areas such as targeted drug development, in vitro diagnostic assays, characterization of signaling pathways, detection of protein expression levels, and identification of candidate biomarkers.
