Product Name :
Rabbit anti Rat G Protein b5-D1

Description :
| Isotype IgG | Product Type Polyclonal Antibody | Units 100 µg | Host Rabbit | Species Reactivity Human Murine Rat | Application Western Blotting

Background :
Rabbits were immunized with a unique peptide sequence derived from the D1 blade of the G 5 protein

Source :
The G beta5 protein is a G protein subunit present predominantly in the central nervous system. This protein appears to be expressed in two forms, one found in the brain (39 kDa) and one found in the retina (44 kDa). It has also been found that Gb5 associates tightly with RGS7, a member of the superfamily of negative regulators of G protein signaling. These complexes have been localized to most regions of the brain, whereas G 1-4 exhibit no observable colocalization with RGS7, despite their widespread codistribution throughout similar neuronal networks. <

Product :
This antibody is specific for a peptide sequence within the D1 blade which is not found in the G betas 1-4. Provided as solution in phosphate buffered saline with 0.08% sodium azide. Product Form: Unconjugated Purification Method: Ammonium Sulfate Precipitation Concentration: See vial for concentration

Specificity :

Applications :
Antibody can be used for Western blotting (5-10 µg/ml). Optimal concentration should be evaluated by serial dilutions. Functional Analysis: Western Blotting Positive Control: Plasma membranes from rat cerebrum

Storage :
Product should be stored at -20°C. Aliquot to avoid freeze/thaw cycles Product Stability: See expiration date on vial Shipping Conditions: Ship at ambient temperature, freeze upon arrival

Caution :

Antibodies are immunoglobulins secreted by effector lymphoid B cells into the bloodstream. Antibodies consist of two light peptide chains and two heavy peptide chains that are linked to each other by disulfide bonds to form a “Y” shaped structure. Both tips of the “Y” structure contain binding sites for a specific antigen. Antibodies are commonly used in medical research, pharmacological research, laboratory research, and health and epidemiological research. They play an important role in hot research areas such as targeted drug development, in vitro diagnostic assays, characterization of signaling pathways, detection of protein expression levels, and identification of candidate biomarkers.
