Product Name :
Sheep anti Bovine IgG1 (subclass specific)

Description :
| Clone Polyclonal | Units 1 ml | Host Sheep

Background :
Pools of purified normal IgG1 isolated from pooled bovine serum. Freund’s complete adjuvant is used in the first step of the immunization procedure.

Source :
The reactivity of the antiserum is directed to the subclass specific determinants on the Fc subunit of IgG1. It does not react with other IgG2, IgG/Fab fragments, IgM and IgA or any non-Ig protein in bovine serum, as tested by immunoelectrophoresis and double radial immunodiffusion. In precipitating techniques as immunoelectrophoresis and radial immunodiffusion to identify the presence of IgG1 in bovine serum and other body fluids or to determine its concentration. <

Product :
Delipidated, heat inactivated, lyophilized, stable whole antiserum. No preservative added, as it may interfere with the antibody activity. Total protein and IgG concentrations in the antiserum are comparable to those in pooled sheep serum. No foreign proteins added. Reconstitute the lyophilized antiserum by adding 1 ml sterile distilled water. Formulation: Delipidated, heat inactivated, lyophilized, stable whole antiserum. No preservative added, as it may interfere with the antibody activity. Total protein and IgG concentrations in the antiserum are comparable to those in pooled sheep serum. No foreign prot

Specificity :
Precipitating polyclonal Sheep antiSerum to Bovine IgG1, subclass specific. Species Reactivity: This IgG fraction is not species-specific since inter-species cross-reactivity is a normal feature of antisera to immunoglobulins. Cross-reactivity of this product has not been tested in detail.

Applications :
Precipitation assays. In immunoelectrophoresis use 2 μl or equivalent against 120 μl antiserum. In double radial immunodiffusion (Ouchterlony) use a rosette arrangement with 10 μl antiserum in a 3 mm diameter centre well and 2 μl serum samples (neat and diluted) in 2 mm diameter peripheral wells.

Storage :
The lyophilized antiserum is shipped at ambient temperature and may be stored at +4°C; prolonged storage at or below -20°C. Dilutions may be prepared by adding phosphate buffered saline (PBS, pH 7.2). Repeated thawing and freezing should be avoided. If a slight precipitation occurs upon storage, this should be removed by centrifugation. It will not affect the performance of the antiserum. Diluted antiserum should be stored at +4°C, not refrozen, and preferably used the same day.

Antibodies are immunoglobulins secreted by effector lymphoid B cells into the bloodstream. Antibodies consist of two light peptide chains and two heavy peptide chains that are linked to each other by disulfide bonds to form a “Y” shaped structure. Both tips of the “Y” structure contain binding sites for a specific antigen. Antibodies are commonly used in medical research, pharmacological research, laboratory research, and health and epidemiological research. They play an important role in hot research areas such as targeted drug development, in vitro diagnostic assays, characterization of signaling pathways, detection of protein expression levels, and identification of candidate biomarkers.
