Product Name :
CD15/ Lewis X antigen/ alpha-(1,3)-fucosyltransferase 4

Description :
| Clone BRA4F1 | Isotype IgM | Product Type Primary Antibodies | Units 0.1mg | Host Mouse | Species Reactivity Human | Application Flow Cytometry Immunocytochemistry Immunohistochemistry (frozen) Immunohistochemistry (paraffin)

Background :
BRA4F1 is a mouse IgM monoclonal antibody derived from the fusion of SP2.0-Ag14 mouse myeloma cells with splenocytes from a BALB/c mouse immunized with K562 cells.

Source :
CD15 is a carbohydrate that is referred to as the Lewis X antigen, also known as alpha-(1,3)-fucosyltransferase 4, which is expressed on a variety of glycolipids and glycoproteins found on the cell surface of neutrophils, monocytes, eosinophils and non-hematopoietic tissues including embryonic tissues. CD15 is reported to function as an adhesion molecule and is involved in chemotaxis and phagocytosis. Expression of CD15 is also associated with a wide variety of tumour cells including some adenocarcinomas and certain types of myeloid and lymphoid leukaemias. Reed-Sternberg cells, found in cases of Hodgkins Lymphoma, also express CD15 and antibodies recognising the CD15 antigen are often used to help differentiate between Hodgkins and non-Hodgkins lymphoma. <

Product :
Each vial contains 100 µl 1mg/ml purified monoclonal antibody in PBS containing 0.09% sodium azide. The product is delivered in lyophilised format. Formulation: Each vial contains 100 µl 1mg/ml purified monoclonal antibody in PBS containing 0.09% sodium azide. The product is delivered in lyophilised format.

Specificity :
The antibody BRA4F1 is directed against human CD15. The antibody does not cross react with the sialylated form of CD15 (CD15s).

Applications :
The BRA4F1 antibody is suitable for the detection of CD15 by flow cytometry, immunocytochemisty and immunohistochemistry of frozen and paraffin embedded tissues. Optimal antibody dilutions for the different applications should be determined by titration.

Storage :
The antibody is shipped at ambient temperature and may be stored at +4°C. For prolonged storage prepare appropriate aliquots and store at or below -20°C. Prior to use, an aliquot is thawed slowly in the dark at ambient temperature, spun down again and used to prepare working dilutions by adding sterile phosphate buffered saline (PBS, pH 7.2). Repeated thawing and freezing should be avoided. Working dilutions should be stored at +4°C, not refrozen, and preferably used the same day. If a slight precipitation occurs upon storage, this should be removed by centrifugation. It will not affect the performance or the concentration of the product.

Caution :
This product is intended FOR RESEARCH USE ONLY, and FOR TESTS IN VITRO, not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures involving humans or animals. It may contain hazardous ingredients. Please refer to the Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for additional information and proper handling procedures. Antibodies are immunoglobulins secreted by effector lymphoid B cells into the bloodstream. Antibodies consist of two light peptide chains and two heavy peptide chains that are linked to each other by disulfide bonds to form a “Y” shaped structure. Both tips of the “Y” structure contain binding sites for a specific antigen. Antibodies are commonly used in medical research, pharmacological research, laboratory research, and health and epidemiological research. They play an important role in hot research areas such as targeted drug development, in vitro diagnostic assays, characterization of signaling pathways, detection of protein expression levels, and identification of candidate biomarkers.
